A spokesman for German carmaker Volkswagon has confirmed that chief executives of Wolkwagon and Apple met in California recently to discuss the possibility of a joint venture.
He did not say whether the meeting was about the launch of an iCar. However various sources have reported that the iCar would follow in the footsteps of other popular Apple products like the iPod and iMac.
Both companies have a history of working to integrate computers and other media into cars. Apple has been working to get iPod connectors put into various cars including those of Audi and BMW, while Volkswagon has been working with Google to produce an in-car navigation system based on Google Maps.
The Apple/VW car is said to be a VW compact car which will be equipped with Apple products. Capitol magazine stated that experts predict the car will have massive appeal with young target groups.
