iPods dominate the mp3 player marketplace, there is no ifs or buts about it, each one of the different model of iPods leads the field in each of the “sub section” of mp3 player – all except one that is – the iPod Shuffle.
The iPod touch, iPod nano and the biggest of the iPod’s the classic all outsell their rivals, but the shuffle can found at the bottom of the best sellers and that’s because of devices like SanDisk Sansa Clip 8GB, an mp3 player that holds over 8gb of music, is the size of a matchbox and costs less than £41.
Cheapest online price from Amazon £41.30
The cheapest Shuffle costs £43.42 on Amazon for just 2gb and whilst it may have been the smallest mp3 player on the market it comes with limited functionality, no screen, no ability to select a particular song.
Now the SanDisk Sansa Clip 8GB MP3 Player does’nt have video playing capabilty or the ability to access the internet, but it is this lack of functionality that why this little mp3 player is selling so well. Sandisk have spotted the gap in the market that Apple have been unable to fill with it’s shuffle product.
At 2gb and even the bigger 4gb alternative the shuffle is just too light on capacity for those people that only want a music player, At 8gb the Sansa Clip is double the capacity size of the largest shuffle, but it also boasts an expandable microSD or microSDHC memory card slot to double or even triple the capacity.
An 8gb micro sd card will cost you about £10 – which means if you do find you need more space, you don’t spend money on upgrading, just spend a tenner and double your capacity, a 16gb micro sd card will set you back a little more, the cheapest around about £30.
A nice extra with this mp3 player is the Digital FM tuner and Built in voice recorder, just giving you a little more.
What you get

- From £41.30
