With Apple expected to release the next generation of iPhone5, the rumor mill is in full flow. Industry analysts have earmarked a release date in September 2011, though less optimistic commentators are banking on a 2012 launch. Thus far cheapest-iPod can only say one thing for certain – Applemaniacs can’t wait for their new iPhone5.
And maybe pyromaniacs are getting excited as well as the word on the circuit board is the new iPhone5 will be fireproof. Rumour has it Apple has registered a patent for an advanced flame retardant material that is thought to be integrated into the manufacturing of all future Apple products. Why, we´re not quite sure unless you´re a welder. Maybe Steve Jobs has been listening to 2012 reports about fireballs in the sky.
New iPhone5 Display
Display rumours have surfaced again and after complaints of light leaking at the edge of the
iPhone4 it´s likely that this is a sound possibility. The rumour gained credibility when a screenshot showing the device with an edge to edge display screen leaked on to the Internet. Though these types of leaks can be easily manipulated, reports that Apple had spent several billion dollars acquiring display technology seem to corroborate the rumour. There is also hearsay that the phone will have a curved glass display, since Apple bought glass cutting machines which are capable of making curved glass covers.
Since Apple’s closest rivals are betting on powerful cameras to compete with iPhone4, it stands to reason that the iPhone5 will have a better camera than the current model. Rumor has it that iPhone5 will have an 8MP camera as well as panoramic photo capabilities, supported by an app and an improved flash.
Gaming on iPhone5
Playing games like Angry Birds on your iPhone5 will be a whole new experience – if the rumors are anything to go by at least. Games are said to be supported by a multi-core A5 processor and together with Imagination Technologies’ PowerVR Series6 mobile graphics processing architecture will significantly improve gaming capabilities.
Add to that the prospect of an improved video capacity. The iPhone5´s competitors have all upgraded to 1080p Full HD video recorders so it´s a safe bet will either match them or better them. It´s not their style to lag behind in anything.
Social Networking on iPhone5
Facebook, Twitter et al is the addiction of our century and Apple would be a fool to miss out on the opportunity´s social networking present. Rumours say that iPhone 5 is going to become a portable social network, analysing your habits, tastes etc, to help you find new friends with the same interests – as long as they have an iPhone 5,of course. Why would you want to have friends that don’t?
And finally, the iPhone is expected to upgraded to incorporate 4G technology. The current generation of mobile telecommunication networks are supported 3G, but most companies have their eye in the future and offer the 4G service. According to rumors, iPhone 5 will offer 4G with LTE (Long Term Evolution) technology – just for a bit of one-upmanship.
