Today more than 500 people queued outside the Apple Store on London’s Regent Street, to get their hands on the brand new iPhone – which is once again set to be a record breaking seller for the Apple brand.

What the fuss is all about is the iPhone 4 – the updated release of the iPhone that once again cements Apples place as the market leader in gadgets and the only brand who can generate such a keen appetite amongst it’s users for more gadgets and updated versions of their gadgets.

The iPhone when it was launched was a revelation, the updated 3g model took it to a new level and new Apple hope to once again raise the bar.

Whats New? Perhaps the biggest innovation from Apple will be the that the  iPhone 4 will support video calling and whilst this functions has been around for years, previous versions of the iPhone did not support this. This time around there will be two cameras one on the rear of the phone and one on the front so as to aid the video call experience as well as maintain a standard camera.

A new screen is another big enhancement, Apple claims that it will be the “sharpest, most vibrant, highest-resolution phone screen ever” and is four times the pixel count of previous iPhone models.

One of the biggest complaints with the original iPhones (and iPads) is the lack of multi-tasking, previously only one application could be running at a time, the iPhone introduces multi tasking.

There is now a much improved 5 mega pixel camera (with a FLASH!) and HD video recording and editing as well as other subtle changes.

The iPhone 4 is released today and comes 2 colours (white & Black) and  in 3 sizes 8gb, 16gb and 32gb. If you are buying on pay as you go will pay £419 for the smallest model and £599 for largest model.

Like the iPhone 3gs it is available from Orange, o2 and vodafone for pay monthly contracts.
